| I originally bought this dryer for my mother who was using an ancient hair dryer that barely blew air. I decided that I needed to test it out first. Well, I loved it so much that I kept it for myself. It cut my drying time in half. I love how even the hottest air from the dryer seems cool compared to my old hair dryer. Also, I decided to get this for my best friend for Christmas. She has long, thick hair. She emailed me after two days of use and said (rather melodramatically) that the hair dryer had changed her life! She said that it cut her blowing time in half. She has mentioned it two other times since Christmas so she is very impressed and thrilled with the product. The only negative is that it is very heavy compared to my previous dryer. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it but now my arm doesn't remember the difference. I bought another one for my mother who likes it but said that it was drying her hair so quickly that she has to use the diffuser attachment so she has time to strategically style her hair with a brush before it is dry. We all highly recommend this product. Great value for the money. |

The drying indeed seems a little faster with ionic. But it is definitely muted in the sound it makes. Every time my wife starts to dry her huge bundle of hair, the hair drier whine used to get me crazy. I feel a lot better now. The build quality is also pretty good and sturdy. For this price, this is definitely one of the best.

| My old Conair died so I read all the reviews and decided on this hairdryer. Very satisfied. The weight is good, the attachments are fine, and the price was right! You don't need anything better. I really like the ability to open the cover to get to the mesh filter to clean it and the 3 heat settings and 3 blower settings. A winner! |

| I love this dryer. I used a similar one at Planet Hollywood in Vegas and tracked it down when I got home. I have wavy hair that always frizzes into a puff ball when I use a hairdryer. I had switched from my old dryer to the Remington Wet2Straight which I thought was the greatest invention ever, but this dryer quickly replaced it. The key is the high power motor, it gets my entire head dry in less than 10 minutes, with no frizz. A quick run through with a straightener after I'm done is all I need. Plus it's lightweight and quiet. This product saves me at least 15 minutes in the morning that I used to waste getting frustrated with my hair...try it! |

| I like the product. However, having purchased it from Amazon.com, T3 will not allow me to register my product for future warranty because they claim Amazon.com is not an authorized dealer. For such an expensive every day product, a warranty would be nice to have in case anything were to go wrong. I received an email from T3 and a call back both confirming that they do not consider Amazon.com an authorized dealer. When I called Amazon, they had never heard of such a thing. Amazon.com offered to exchange my featherweight tourmaline dryer with another but that did not resolve my issue. I cannot get my T3 Tourmaline Featherweight 83808 hair dryer covered by T3's warranty because it was purchased through Amazon.com. |

After being swayed by the reveiws here and getting wise to the warranty situation, I made a point of purchasing this product in a nearby beauty supply store who is an authorized seller and thought I was getting a bargain at $125. I bought it in the hopes of taming the huge, round, coarse frizzball sitting on my head.
Let me note for the skeptical that the product was brand new, unopened in the box and in obvious mint condition. It is an authentic T3 hairdryer. Yes, it dried faster, but left a noticeably dull, dry finish and seemed to strip my hair of it lustre. Not only that but I couldn't get the ends of my hair to lie straight after they had already shriveled up in the fast drying process, and the more I struggled with the ends the more flyaway my hair became. And it appears to be MORE voluminous than ever - bigger and puffier and with the same amount of frizz, only duller looking.
I immediately plugged it out and plugged in my old, falling apart Babyliss Carerra (non-ionic) dryer and afer a few minutes managed to get the ends straight and see some lustre return. I agree completely with the reviewer who made the comment about losing the healthy shine.
I only hope I can get my money back. I will certainly try.
UPDATE - Comparison of T3 Tourmaline to less expensive Babyliss ProTT
though I couldn't get my money back, I exchanged the T3 for a Babyliss ProTT 3000 Tourmaline dryer (I'd have stayed away from Tourmaline ionic infrared labels but apparently it's all the rage and very difficult to find a nice lowtech one that doesn't incorporate this technology).
Like the T3, the Babyliss is also really lightweight, dries as fast or faster than the T3, and has the added benefit of more heat settings - including medium, low, and high, as well as a cool shot, whereas the T3 only offers a high heat and low heat. The Babyliss has 1900 watts and the T3 has 1800. There are various models of the Bablyiss tourmaline, but this model was at the lower end of the price range at $89, and you can get it on Amazon for about $20 less.
It is for the above reasons and others I'm about to detail that it is a superior product to the T3. Not only does it cost much less but the Babyliss gave my hair a soft, lustrous, shiny smooth sheen and healthy texture, and did not leave it looking dried out and fried as the T3 did.
That said, I still experienced the same problem w/the Babyliss as with the T3- it gives too much volume to my short, thick choppy layered hair and doesn't allow me to straighten it at any heat setting. What I saved in drying time (easily fifteen minutes without sweating and straining my arm) I paid for dearly in styling time to try to get the full balloon-y volume to calm down and get the ends to lay flat.
In sum, I would strongly recommend saving your money on the T3 and buying the Babyliss if you want to see not merely identical but significantly improved functionality and performance over the more expensive T3 dryer. Yet I would still be less likely to recommend this or any other tourmaline-infused infrared dryer for people with very thick, voluminous hair that they want to take the poof out of and make straight, as that will likely not happen with this or similar units. As a final but very significant note on performance - the Babyliss toned down my frizz (and it's a very rainy day today) by nearly 100 percent! Also I noticed very few dry flyaways as compared to the T3.
In sum, the Babyliss ProTT is an excellent product, a much better choice than the T3. It is more economical, offers greater functionality and superior performance. |

Hair actually looks better

| My hairstylist recommended this hair dryer--it is the one she uses on my hair at the salon. My hair always looks better after she styles it--and I use the same shampoo and brush that she does--that meant it was time to invest in the dryer. The dryer is pretty quiet and light. Seems like it is made well enough--must be since my stylist has been using it everyday (multiple times) for more than 3 years. I looked at upgrading since there are newer CHI's out there--but this one was cheaper and I knew for sure that it would do a good job. I don't regret not getting one of their fancier more powerful models--I'm not trying to fry my hair, just dry and shape it. After my other professional hairdryer died (did a good job--but got crushed in an accident), I began using a $20 cheapie--what a mistake. When people tell you that all hairdryers are the same, it is because they don't really know. My research has indicated that CHI is only brand on the market with full ceramic components--not just ceramic coated. I really didn't want to spend all this money--but my hair actually looks much better and others have noticed. I would recommend this dryer--it was worth the price to me. |
Failed after 6 months and mfg. warranty is void if purchased from Amazon.

Purchased this hair dryer six months ago and the heating element failed. Pretty short lifespan for a dryer. Called mfg. and was told warranty is VOID if purchased online (I confirmed this on Chi's website) and they also stated Amazon is not an authorized retailer. Amazon made good on the warranty after a few phone calls and sent a replacement unit.
This warranty exclusion applies to all Farouk Systems products according to the mfg. I'm sure Amazon will honor the existing warranties but be prepared for a little extra work if your unit fails. |

| This is the only ceramic, ionic blow dryer with a retractable cord that I could find on the market and I am very pleased with it. My fiance loves it because the cord doesn't get tangled or clutter up the bathroom counter. I love it because it's a great size and performs well-- drying hair very quickly. The only reason I hesitated from giving it 5 stars is that it is a bit heavy (because of the ceramic core, I suppose). Lastly I think the product could be improved with a more ergonomic handle. |

| I eagerly snapped up this ionic hair dryer about over a year ago because of it's retractable cord and folding capabilities. Even the price was attractive. It really did take up little room in my bathroom drawer and the retractable cord was a plus. I thought I had the perfect blow dryer because it did what it was supposed to do and quickly. Now for the bad news: the retractable cord became chewed up and frayed after daily use and it became apparent that the cord was ultimately going to fray completely in due time. Then, the folding handle, low and behold, broke in half one morning. (Of course, the warranty had long expired). This dryer is too fragile to consider using on a daily basis and I consider myself a careful person when it comes to handling small appliances such as hair dryers. When I've replaced hair dryers in the past, it was been because they've simply reached the end of their lifespans and burned out. I'd caution anyone to consider this before buying because these 2 features alone, while very appealing, can shorten an otherwise good hairdryer's lifespan. I've now purchased a T3 Tourmaline (a featherweight, quiet hairdryer with no retractable cord or folding handle) which seems to work just fine and appears to have a much longer lifespan. |

A dryer that meets all your styling needs. It's not often that you can find one that is suited for both curly and straight styles. The air diffusing attachment is perfect for creating soft, frizz free curls while the concentrator nozzle (more narrow and therefore a better conductor of air than most models with this feature) allows you to direct air exactly where you want it. The dryer itself features two speed (low and high) and three heat settings (cool, warm and hot), as well as a cold shot button to lock in style. For the highest heat setting, simply put the dryer on high speed and the hottest setting (careful, though...this is only recommended for hair that's UBER curly, like mine). Additionally, the 9 foot long cord (complete with a loop that will allow you to hook it onto something in your bathroom or wherever else you store it) makes it really easy to use. Another bonus: even on the highest setting, the dryer is considerably more quiet than other ones on the market that are similarly priced (you can easily hold a conversation while speaking in a normal tone of voice).
According to the information that's included with the product, the dryer is made with a combination pink tourmaline/ceramic technology that allows for a special emission of ions (these are important for eliminating static electricity). I found that after use, my hair actually was a lot smoother even than when I used previous hair dryers with ionic technology; I used it to style my hair both in its naturally curly state and after setting it in rollers to blow dry it straight. If your hair is really curly like mine, however, you might still want to use a flatiron to get that pin-straight look. But for less curly hair or hair that's less prone to frizz, that probably won't be necessary.
Although this is by far my favorite hair dryer I've ever owned, I do agree with the previous comment on this product: it really would be the perfect dryer if it had a folding handle. But this is only a tiny flaw, as it more than makes up for that missing feature with its humidity resisting technology. Well done, Remington. An invaluable product for any styling arsenal. |

I bought a cheaper "lightweight" dryer and took it back because it felt like a toy, and didn't have a warm setting like it said. Just hot and fry.
I ordered this one based on Amazon reviews. I really like it. It's feels like a pro dryer. It's comfortable to hold. It maybe a tad heavy, but it works so fast, it's not an issue for me. I wanted something that would last and work well. It has a true cool setting. My hair is soft and well behaved for a change. Since I've gotten older my hair has gotten more delicate and I almost quit using a hairdryer because it was so hard on my hair. I thought I'd try again because sometimes I want my hair sleek instead of curly.
Like the matte finish. Only thing I don't like is the attachments are hard to get on and off. But, hey, at least they don't fall off while I'm using them like some dryers I've had. I'm a little concerned that they might break at some point while changing them, but so far so good. |

Quick Drying & Frizz Free

My shoulder length hair is very thick and typically takes forty minutes to dry. With this dryer, I am done in half the time. I love it! After using this dryer, my hair is soft and frizz free, without having to use products or a hair straightener. I have owned many hair dryers and this is the first that has been able to control the frizz in my thick hair.
I whole heartedly recommend this hair dryer. |

This is a great hair dryer. I blow my curly hair straight and then flat iron it smooth. My old "cheapo" dryers would create a mushroom-shaped pouf on my head, which, in turn, would take forever to flat iron out. This dryer makes my hair noticeably smoother (and much less freaky!) and cuts my time with the flat iron in half!
I did give it four stars instead of five because it is slightly on the heavy side, but not so heavy that I would return it. I would purchase it again. Maybe it will help me work on the muscle tone in my arms :) |
